Our Needs

Infrastructure

Being responsible stewards of our church facility paves the way for us to create an inviting community and allows us to focus on our ministry, rather than being limited and distracted by what is in disrepair.

A facility and engineering firm assessment of our church and school infrastructure for enhanced functionality, value, and useful life extension reported on these areas:

Roofs: The roofs of the six church classrooms and of the school leak, causing significant ceiling water damage requiring constant costly maintenance.

Windows: Our church and school buildings’ original 1950’s era windows are energy inefficient, drafty, and leak. Holes must be plugged and children must dress warmly on cold days.

HVAC System: We have replaced the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system in the church sanctuary and lower level, but not in the rest of our facilities. These old, inefficient, and inadequate systems require repeated repairs costing thousands of dollars each year.

Parking Lots & Safety: The church and school parking lots and drives are past their life expectancy. They are filled with unsafe potholes, and patching is no longer effective or worthwhile. And, our lighting and security cameras are insufficient to safely cover our parking areas for our staff, members, visitors, school children, and parents.

Signs & Landscaping: Our worn and dated exterior signs and landscaping do not provide a welcoming invitation onto our church and school campuses.

Church Facility

Making everyone feel welcome and an essential part of our faith family is a hallmark of our church, school, and childcare program.

Lower Level: The church’s lower level hosts essential church activities, but the well-used space has worn carpeting, old ceiling tiles, and dim lighting.

Organ: Our 1965 organ is integral to our renowned traditional worship service’s music but it is failing; pipes are sagging, some notes don’t play or get stuck, the console needs replacement, and many parts are not available.

Atrium: Our entryway does not welcome all with a view into our worship space, but leads to a wall, solid sanctuary doors, and worn carpeting.

AV Equipment: We lack chancel audio-visual and recording equipment, cameras, and lighting to record and live-stream our services to reach more people, attract more church members, or serve homebound or sick members.

School and Childcare Facility

We are called to look with new eyes and be the best stewards of what God has entrusted to our care—to ensure that our school, childcare, and church are ready to meet the growing needs of our children and their children.

Restrooms: Our dark, dingy, and outdated hallway and classroom restrooms need updating and repair.

Classrooms: The outdated 1960’s era classroom cabinets and counters are not adequate for our teachers and students.

Entryway & Office: The school entryway is neither inviting nor functional in its previous remodel into a lobby and inconveniently located childcare and pastor’s offices.

School Gym Audiovisual Technology: The ineffective school gym sound system makes it hard to make announcements and lead chapel.
