Our Needs

New Parish Hall

Although St. Dominic’s is blessed to have a new worship space, the lack of a parish hall has always impeded our growth. And now, the recent sale of the Knights of Columbus Hall off Main Street leaves us nowhere to gather for fellowship other than the church Narthex. Without fellowship space:

  • St. Dominic’s is treated as a commuter parish, someplace to go on Sundays but otherwise not a part of family life.
  • We significantly lack a feeling of parish community without anywhere to gather together.
  • We cannot provide necessary growth activities without enough meeting, classroom, and gathering space.
  • Our religious education and youth programs are limited because of our lack of classroom and youth space.
  • We desperately need more space for a new food pantry including refrigeration and freezer storage.

New Office Complex With Classrooms and Storage

The construction trailers that house the parish office complex were only planned to be transitional facilities.

  • These trailers, made for construction sites, are just temporary housing for our church offices and six classrooms.
  • We only have a 10-year occupational permit for the trailers by the county regional building authority, and we are three years into this period.
  • Our new office complex must be completed and ready for move-in within the next seven years.

Though these trailers provide room for our offices and classes, their compact nature means we have a serious lack of storage space.

Diocesan Appeal and Capital Campaign

Every parish in the Diocese of Colorado Springs has been asked to participate in the annual diocesan appeal and diocesan capital campaign this year. A minimum of $125,910 and $504,000 respectively in pledged support is expected to be raised from St. Dominic’s to go toward programs and ministries that address a variety of greater needs across the Church of Central Colorado.
