Our Needs

Fellowship Hall

Not having convenient large gathering space near or attached to the church results in many lost opportunities to build a more closely connected and committed community of faith. 

• The old school building that we use for larger events and gatherings is located a distance away and down the hill from the church.
• Because it is not ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant, the old school building is unwelcoming to our elderly, mobility challenged and handicapped parishioners and visitors to activities and events there.
• Having to drive to events such as funeral luncheons, wedding receptions and even coffee and donuts after Mass is inconvenient and deters participation.
• Too often once people get into their car, they go on with their activities, rather than stop by the event at the other building. 
• Our potential to hold revenue producing events is limited – the old school building is not as desirable as other area venues.

Church Offices 

Our church offices are located in the old rectory (originally a large and private pastor's residence) next to the church that was remodeled for parish office use. 

• The remodeled space does not have adequate or appropriately configured office, meeting, ministry, private conference or storage space. 
• The building is not ADA compliant, has major plumbing issues, terrible insulation, and is not adequately or efficiently heated, cooled, illuminated, or electrically wired for today’s professional office needs. 
• The1920’s era building is increasingly expensive to maintain.

Accessibility & Restrooms

Our facility’s lack of accessibility makes our church challenging and potentially dangerous to use for people with limited mobility. This makes our church unwelcoming to all who want to participate in Mass, our ministries, and events. 

• Those who need ADA accessibility must enter church through the side door and down a ramp that is removed during Mass and other services. This is a safety concern in the event of an emergency when the church must be vacated quickly.
• Our one handicapped accessible restroom, located behind the church’s back entrance in the server sacristy, is not always easily or conveniently accessible, especially during Mass. 
• Our non-ADA compliant restrooms in the church basement are dark, dreary, and only accessible down narrow stairs.
