Our Needs

In 2002, we completed a very successful capital campaign to renovate our Sanctuary which provided a firm foundation for our future in many ways. To continue to build on this foundation, we recently had to address the needs facing our beloved church today.

Parish House Improvement Needs

The Parish House is the most heavily used building in our church complex and supports a wide array of functions and missions. While it has served and supported the ministries and programs of our church for many years, its deficiencies had to be addressed.

  • Heating System: The 1950’s era heating and ceiling systems became top priority after a series of system malfunctions, failures, and leaks. Four independent engineering firms recommended full replacement of the heating system pipes, ceiling systems, lighting, and other various components.
  • Air conditioning: There was no central air conditioning and only some offices had window units.
  • Fire Protection System: The town of Wellesley required we commit to a full fire protection system as a condition of issuing the initial Parish House renovation building permit.
  • Office & Meeting Space: Our church offices were split between two floors, lacked an easy-to-find entryway, had limited storage, and were configured so staff could not see people coming or going. These issues made it difficult for our staff to welcome and serve people effectively, or to efficiently use resources in a manner that glorified God.
  • Kitchen: The Parish House kitchen was used by staff, volunteers, and visitors for many reasons, but its 1950’s era design no longer met our many ministries’ needs.
