Education Wing Improvements

A New Daycare Center. Education wing main floor modifications will create a much-needed church and community daycare center. New and younger families will be attracted to the four new classrooms that include DHS required restrooms: two for children under 2½ years old and two for children over 2½ years old.

Updated Fire Alarms & New Fire Sprinkler System. Fire alarm and sprinkler systems will be installed on all three education wing floors.

Central Air-Conditioning. A central air conditioning system and code-required ventilation system will be installed. This will make the education wing comfortable and useable for daycare, classes, meetings, and gatherings throughout the year.

Upper-Level Restroom Improvements. The upper-level restrooms will have more handicapped-accessible stalls and toilets, be repainted, and get new lighting, flooring, and fixtures.

Daycare Entrances & Exits.  Two new, direct, emergency exits in the rooms for children 2½ years and younger will be created in existing classrooms to meet DHS code requirements.  

Corridor Barriers to Regulate Access. Three new security doors will be installed between the daycare and worship wings to make the daycare area more safe and secure.

Dedicated Daycare Playground. A well-equipped playground on the west side will offer church and community children and parents enjoyment for many years to come.

Other Improvements

Daycare Director’s Office. The Daycare Director’s Office, built inside the new daycare’s front entrance (on the south side, toward 2nd Ave N.), will be convenient and support building safety and security.

Lower-Level Restrooms Installed. New lower level restrooms and sinks will be handicap accessible to meet ADA requirements.

Daycare Center Covered Drop-Off Area. A new covered daycare drop-off area will make it easier and safer to drop off children in all types of weather.

New Education Wing Elevator. An elevator in the new entrance will make all levels of the education wing more easily accessible for everyone.

New Education Wing Boiler. A new, energy-efficient boiler will be installed and attached to our existing pumps that were updated more recently.

Expanded Church Entryway. The south, main church entrance will be remodeled to be more easily accessible with a larger vestibule and interior ramp.

Covered Church Drop-Off Area.  A new covered drop-off area outside the southwest entrance will make this part of our building more conveniently and comfortably accessible.
